Assemblé

A participatory dance project carried out between September 2020 and May 2022 by the CND in Pantin, France, together with local residents.


A shared community dance was presented on May 14, 2022, during 1KM de danse in Pantin.

Assemblé invites participants to create ephemeral, dancing communities in Pantin. Through the collection and exchange of each person’s dances, and by transforming them into collective creations, Assemblé offers new opportunities for meeting and connection within the city.

From November 2021 to May 2022, three groups of residents were formed, each accompanied by a choreographer, a mediator, and teams from partner associations and neighborhood centers.

Workshops took place at the CND as well as at partner venues, in the evenings and on Saturday mornings.

The common dances were presented during the biggest dance festival in Pantin 1 KM de danse on May 14, 2022.
